‘The Man Who Would Not Be King’ is a prequel to Operation Motherland featuring two of the characters from that book, casting one of them in a very different light indeed.
Nine thousand words long, it’s a warped little shocker designed to be a light dessert after a hearty main course because it originally appeared as a bonus at the back of Paul Kane’s sequel to Arrowhead, Broken Arrow.
