I am a mole. Whack me.

Yes, I know I’ve been quiet, but in my defence, I’ve been very busy writing a series of audio plays for those nice people at Big Finish.
I’ve completed two and have just embarked on the third. Announcement soon, but I’m seriously excited about this project. Television’s James Moran reacted to one of the scripts by calling me a sick bastard. This from the guy who wrote ‘Severance’. I’m still blushing :-)
And then straight after the final script’s delivered I have to dive into writing Afterblight Chronicles: Children’s Crusade, which is due end of March.
So what’s been going on besides?
- I found a website with one word reviews of both my books, succinctly labelling them “Very Good” (School’s Out) and “Drivel” (Operation Motherland). There is something to be said for brevity, I s’pose.
- I’ve started a new 9-5 contract, overseeing the redevelopment of the website for a major Government department – yup, by day I’m a civil servant, for the next six months, anyway.
- I had to correct a lovely email from a guy who thought that my dad had written my unpublished edition of Ghost Rider 2099, which is the first time our work has ever been conflated. For the record, when people begin congratulating me on writing ‘Soldier’ I intend to let their misconception stand uncorrected and bask in reflected glory.
- I finished watching The Shield, which had probably the best series finale I’ve ever seen. I’m still dwelling on it, picking apart the cleverness and rightness of the conclusion. (Yes, Ron Moore, I’m glaring pointedly at you when I say that.) Such great writing, such fabulous performances.
- I finally read the first of Robert Muchamore’s CHERUB books and was blown away by it.
- My son currently has croup and has spoken his first words – “Peppa Pig!” and “Cheese!”
