There’s a brief glimpse of a certain type of plane dogfighting with a certain type of spaceship in this trailer which may be the most exciting thing I have ever seen on telly. Ever.

It’s like someone reached into the subconscious of my eight-year-old self and came up with the single image most likely to make me explode with excitement. Dear God, the eight year-olds who are going to be watching this are so lucky.

Also, just as an aside, much as I adored Mr Tennant, his mockney accent grated on my ears after a while. How nice to have a Doctor who speaks posh but with a tiny hint of Midlands.
